It’s wild to think that I’ve been listening to Don read other people’s stories for years and all along he himself was such a great writer. He touches on things we feel but rarely articulate and expresses them so beautifully. So glad he decided to start sharing his storytelling! Thank you, Don.

I’m hooked on Don McDonald: the cadence of his voice, the use of vocabulary that’s teetering on the brink of extinction, and the twists of his stories. I read the review of another listener who didn’t appreciate the political references in one of his stories. I, too, don’t like political references in a short story podcast that I listen to on my commute to and from work. I haven’t listened to that story yet, so I’m giving Don 5 stars. If he veers off into using this platform as a political stump then I’ll unfollow his podcasts and change my rating accordingly. For now, I’m still a huge fan and look forward to his personable presence in my car each week.

I did not like the story on civic duty. It screams anti-Trump. It would’ve been much more appropriate during the Manchurian Biden term when people were being fired for not taking the government mandated vaccine or cancelled for depicting the American flag.

I’m so glad Don is sharing his original tales with the world.

Great stories which entertained me, kept me guessing and touched my emotions. The episode “Dead Air” provided me an important reminder to be present to my live, friends and family. Highly recommend.

Well-thought short stories that will give you food for thought, written and told by a master of the spoken story. Oh…and strong production value, too. Highly recommend.

My path to discovering “New Tales Told” began through my personal finance journey. I have long followed Don on the superb five-star podcast “Talking Real Money” and enjoy his “LitReading” podcast. I am pleased Don has rekindled his creative writing skills, paused since high school. I have enjoyed each “New Tales Told” episode. “The Borrowed Dog” brought me to tears. Thank you Don. Looking forward to your next original story.
